Ismael Martinez Dead in Brutal DUI Crash on West 16th Street [Ector County, TX]

1 Person Killed in Ector County DUI Accident on West 16th Street

ECTOR COUNTY, TX (September 13, 2023) – On Friday, Ismael Martinez died in an alarming DUI crash on West 16th Street.

The incident happened on westbound West 16th Street.

According to reports, a westbound 2013 Chevrolet Silverado veered into the eastbound lanes and struck an eastbound 2004 Harley Davidson motorcycle. Then, an eastbound 2006 Chrysler 300 struck the motorcycle rider who was already down in the roadway.

Moreover, responders pronounced the motorcycle rider, 57-year-old Martinez of Odessa, dead at the scene.

Furthermore, officers arrested the Silverado driver, 61-year-old Martin Salas-Gallegos of Odessa, for Intoxication Manslaughter. Then, paramedics transported Salas-Gallegos to MCH for treatment.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.
