Police Investigate Crash on US Highway 101 in Eureka

Eureka, CA (September 28, 2023) – On Tuesday, 52-year-old Isidro Gali died in a crash on US Highway 101.

The fatal crash was reported at around 7:50 p.m. by Redheaded Blackbelt.

EPD said the reason Gali was lying down in the street is unknown. A witness said a man was hit by a vehicle. The Dodge Sprinter going roughly 40 miles per hour.

Gali’s autopsy is set for Friday and toxicology tests typically take more than a month before the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office sees the results, said Samantha Karges, a spokesperson for the agency.
