Isaias Mendoza-Inijuez Arrested in Deadly DUI Crash on San Tomas Expressway and El Camino Real [Santa Clara, CA]

1 Dead and 2 Injured in Santa Clara Auto Accident on San Tomas Expressway and El Camino Real

 
SANTA CLARA, CA (November 29, 2022) – Saturday morning, a deadly DUI crash on San Tomas Expressway led to the arrest of Isaias Mendoza-Inijuez.
 
The incident happened at about 12:20 a.m. on San Tomas Expressway and El Camino Real.
 
According to reports, a BMW headed north through the intersection. Then, a Volvo driver heading west at a high rate of speed hit the BMW.
 
“Traffic investigators believe the Volvo drove against a red traffic signal, entered the intersection, and collided with the BMW,” police said.
 
As a result, a 31-year-old male BMW passenger from Sonoma died at the scene. At this time, the authorities haven’t disclosed the identity of the deceased due to pending family notification.
 
Meanwhile, responders took the drivers of the BMW and Volvo to an area hospital with major injuries.
 
Also, the Volvo rider, 28-year-old Sonoma resident Isaias Mendoza-Inijuez, smelled of alcohol. Authorities arrested him on suspicion of homicide and DUI causing injury.
