Bicyclist Isaiah Williams Escalante Dead in Crash at Speedway in Tucson
Tucson, AZ (March 23, 2023) – On Wednesday, 20-year-old Isaiah Williams Escalante died in a crash at Speedway and Country Club.
The fatal crash at Speedway in Tucson happened on March 21.
Tucson Police said the collision involved a bicycle and two other vehicles.
Reportedly, a black Honda Accord traveling east made a left turn in front of a silver Frontier pickup.
The Honda was forced into the bike lane when the Accord struck the Frontier, striking Escalante, who was riding a bicycle.
The pickup’s driver, 52-year-old Matthew Lee Taleck, is accused of manslaughter, causing property damage, and endangering two people.
Investigators said Taleck was impaired during the wreck.
The Honda driver, 23, was arrested and booked on unrelated charges.
