Passenger Injured in Turlock Police Chase Accident
Turlock, CA (May 6, 2022) – Yesterday, the authorities arrested Isaiah Singh, 23, of Turlock in a hit-and-run crash on West Main Street.
The incident started at 8:59 p.m. near the intersection with North Soderquist Road.
A Turlock Police officer noticed a vehicle violate the California Vehicle Code, so the officer attempted to make a traffic stop on it. However, the vehicle did not stop and a chase started.
The vehicle driven by Singh went eastbound on West Main Street and went southbound onto Locust Street. The vehicle lost control, struck a guy-wire, and rolled over.
Singh and his passenger attempted to flee on foot. Luckily, they were quickly apprehended without further incident.
The American Medical Response took Singh’s passenger to a local hospital while there is no update if Singh sustained any injuries.
The vehicle sustained major damage and was no longer inoperable.
Later on, the officers booked Isaiah Singh into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of flight from a peace officer with disregard to public safety, hit and run involving injuries, resisting a peace officer, and violation of probation.
Officers also arrested the passenger, though, they later released them on a citation on charges of resisting a peace officer.
Meanwhile, Singh’s motive for escaping remains unclear. Police said he and his passenger did not have any warrants. Also, there was nothing of interest inside the vehicle, and the vehicle was not stolen.
Running away from a traffic incident is a crime.
