Irvine, CA (August 24, 2020) – On August 22, Isadora Stabel of Irvine died, while 40-year-old Antonio Navarrete of San Clemente was arrested for the DUI hit-and-run crash on Main Street and Culver Drive.
Irvine Police Sgt. Karie Davies said authorities were dispatched at 8:46 to respond to the scene. Witnesses said a black Hyundai Elantra crashed with a white Ford F-150 driven by a man who then immediately drove away.
Immediately, the responders rushed the woman at the passenger seat of the Hyundai to Orange County Global Medical Center. Ms. Stabel, however, died due to her injuries.
The authorities stopped the pickup short distance from the crash and arrested Navarrete on suspicion of hit and run, DUI and murder.
Meanwhile, the Irvine Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team urged anyone with details about the crash to call 714-724-7000.
