Passenger Transported in 710 FWY Deadly Crash

Long Beach, CA (May 29, 2024) – 19-year-old Isaac Muratalla was killed following a pursuit crash on 710 Freeway early Monday morning.

The chase began at 2 a.m. when CHP officers attempted to stop a Lexus ES300 sedan driven by Muratalla for excessive speed. However, Muratalla did not stop and the vehicle veered off the roadway at the transition from the southbound Long Beach Freeway to the northbound San Diego Freeway.

The vehicle then overturned and crashed into a tree.

CHP officers declared Muratalla dead at the scene and his passenger was transported with moderate injuries.

The authorities are still investigating why Muratalla refused to stop.
