Isaac Gallardo Dies in Cathedral City Car Accident
CATHEDRAL CITY, CA (May 31, 2019) – A young man was killed after crashing into a traffic pole early Friday morning, in Cathedral City.
To begin, the accident happened just after 2:00 a.m., at the intersection of Vista Chino and Landau Boulevard. According to reports, a 2019 Toyota Supra struck the traffic signal at the southeastern corner of the street.
Arriving paramedics pronounced the driver dead on scene as a result of the collision. The man was later identified as Isaac Gallardo, 19, of Cathedral City.
Furthermore, a passenger identified as a 20-year-old Cathedral City woman, was taken to a nearby hospital for further treatment due to the extent of her injuries. However, she was treated briefly and released.
The impact consequently caused significant damage to the car. Police said speed and fatigue may have been factors in the crash, which currently remains under investigation at this time.
