Fatal High-Speed Rollover Crash on Wildomar Freeway
Wildomar, CA (February 20, 2022) On Saturday, 24-year-old Isaac Barrera and 34-year-old Eliyu Arellano died in a high-speed rollover crash on Interstate 15.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) says the fatal collision happened just after 2 a.m. on the northbound freeway near the Clinton Keith Road offramp.
Authorities say that a Mercedez-Benz and a Ford Escape collided.
Rescuers say that both fatalities were from the Mercedes and a 26-year-old man from Santa Ana and a passenger were the occupants of the Ford.
Paramedics say that the Santa Ana man had minor injuries and was treated on-site, while his passenger was not hurt.
Meanwhile, Barrera and Arellano died dead on the scene. Both victims were not wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash thus ejecting them.
Meanwhile, investigation shows that the Mercedes was traveling northbound on I-15 with speeds of 100 mph.
Inexplicably, the driver made an unsafe lane change and sideswiped the Ford Escape.
The CHP is investigating the crash and has not ruled out intoxication as a factor.
