Injuries Reported in 2-Car Crash on 5 Freeway near 405 Freeway
IRVINE, CA (February 23, 2019) – One person was injured following a two-car crash Saturday afternoon, on southbound 5 Freeway.
Authorites received dispatch calls about the accident around 3:14 p.m. First repsonders arrived to the scene just north of the 405 Freeway soon after. Reports indicate that the vehicles involved were a black Chevy Sedan and a white Kia.
Details of how the crash occurred were not immediately available, however both vehicles were found in the center divider when officers arrived. One occupant in the Kia was found injured as a result of the accident.
Paramedics were immediately dispatched to the scene and transported the injured patient to a hospital. Moreover, the victims current condition is unknown.
There were no descriptions of any vehicular damages but both cars required towing from the scene.
CHP is currently handling the probe, and intends to determine the mechanics of the crash. Officials are also interested in figuring out further details regarding the collision.
