Interstate 880 Multi-Car Crash Kills Motorists [Oakland, CA]

Oakland, CA (August 15, 2022) On Monday morning, a multi-car chain-reaction crash killed a motorist on Interstate 880.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at around 2:57 a.m. south of the 66th Avenue on-ramp.

Reports say that a driver was ejected from his vehicle after it was rear-ended by another vehicle. Afterward, a 3rd vehicle hit the victim.

However, the 3rd vehicle fled the scene and did not stop to aid the fallen victim. Meanwhile, a 4th vehicle attempted to dodge the crash but ended up crashing itself.

Furthermore, a 5th vehicle struck the prone victim, and the driver of this vehicle remained at the scene. CHP say that a 6th car was involved, but did not clarify what the instances were.

The fatal hit-and-run collision closed I-880 for hours.
