Navy Personnel Involved in Carrizo Gorge Road Fatal Collision

San Diego County, CA (June 3, 2022) On Friday, 1 person died and 4 others were injured in a solo-vehicle crash on Interstate 8.

Cal Fire says the deadly accident happened at around 10 a.m. near Carrizo Gorge Road in Jacumba.

Reports say that a Chevrolet Express veered off the freeway hit a boulder and flipped.

According to the CHP, the victims may all be U.S. Navy personnel.

Authorities say that an occupant died at the scene while 4 others sustained injuries.

Moreover, paramedics airlifted 3 who suffered critical injuries, and a ground ambulance transported the 4th patient

Officials are investigating the incident and have not released additional information at this time.
