43-Year-Old Motorcycle Rider Killed in I-5 Traffic Collision
Maytown, WA (July 19, 2022) On Sunday afternoon, a 43-year-old Longview man died after a motorcycle accident on Interstate 5.
Reports say that the fatal traffic collision happened around 4:45 p.m. on southbound I-5 at milepost 96.
According to the Washington State Patrol (WSP), the man was on a Harley-Davidson motorcycle, as he changed lanes he hit a Honda CR-V.
As paramedics were transporting the patient to the hospital, he succumbed to his injuries and died en route.
Authorities say that the rider was wearing his helmet at the time of the accident, meanwhile, the sole occupant of the Honda did not suffer injuries.
The incident caused one lane of the southbound I-5 for several hours. Authorities are investigating the incident and have not released additional details of the crash.
