Interstate 5 Hit-and-Run Crash Kills Male Pedestrian [San Diego, CA]

San Diego, CA (January 14, 2023) – On Thursday night, a male pedestrian sustained fatal injuries in an Interstate 5 hit-and-run crash.

The deadly accident took place before 10:45 p.m. on the northbound freeway near Sampson Street.

According to the investigators, the victim was first struck by a gray Lexus SUV. He was also struck by an unknown number of other vehicles.

The 55-year-old driver of the Lexus remained at the scene and officers do not suspect the driver was under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

It’s not clear why the male pedestrian was on the freeway. Also, the authorities are investigating if the man who died was under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
