CHP Officer Injured in Traffic Collision near Saratoga Avenue

San Jose, CA (February 28, 2023) – On Monday afternoon, a CHP officer and a passenger suffered injuries after an Interstate 280 traffic accident.

CHP says that the traffic collision happened around 1 p.m. on the shoulder of the freeway near Saratoga Avenue. Officials say that the CHP officers were initially responding to a solo vehicle crash.

Reports say that the driver of a northbound silver Ford Focus lost control and veered across lanes and crashed into the CHP vehicle. Meanwhile, the CHP officer was waiting inside the patrol vehicle along with the driver of the car involved in the solo crash.

Paramedics transported both the CHP officer and the passenger inside the patrol car to a nearby hospital with complaints of pain.

Traffic safety continues to be a life-and-death matter, yet reckless driving has not been in decline. Truth be told, one person is killed in a vehicle accident every couple of hours.

Moreover, sharing the road is a shared responsibility. It is important to keep an eye out for those who are on the road with you.
