Injuries in Multi-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 10
Indio, CA (December 18, 2021) – On Friday, injuries were reported in an Interstate 10 three-vehicle crash.
Officers said the collision happened at around 1:30 p.m. east of Bob Hope Drive.
“As of right now, they do have the lanes open things are just moving a little slow because there is a big rig in the number three [lane],” Anissa Navarro, an office assistant in CHP’s Indio office, said.
Luckily, the crash did not have any fatality but only minor injuries.
When driving, better to scan the road 1/2 mile to a full mile ahead in order to look out or recognize potential hazards in time. Our bodies weren’t designed to travel at 50mph. We were designed for speeds of less than 10mph. Thus, you need to learn to consciously break that natural instinct and focus farther ahead.
Injuries in Traffic Collision
California’s road accident rate continues to increase, rather than decrease, despite the additional safety features on newer vehicle models.
The increasing crash rate reflects that auto accidents are a major public health threat. They are a leading cause of death for individuals ages 5-64.
As a matter of fact, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), two out of three motorists will be in an injury accident during their life.
That is why it is important to know what to do if you were involved in a motor vehicle accident.
