Interstate 10 Hit-and-Run Crash Critically Injures Man [Avondale AZ]

Avondale AZ (July 4, 2022) On Sunday, a man sustained life-threatening injuries after a hit-and-run crash on Interstate 10.

According to the Department of Public Safety (AZDPS), the hit-and-run accident happened at around 3:45 a.m. near Litchfield Road.

Reports say that a black truck lost control, and spun across multiple lanes. Eventually, the truck stopped at the HOV and first lanes towards the south.

Afterward, a good samaritan stopped at the HOV lane and attempted to help the truck. Then, a gray car in the first lane, struck the rear left part of the truck.

Consequently, the impact ejected the truck driver from the vehicle and the driver landed in another lane. Meanwhile, the crash sent the truck to the median and burst into flames.

Paramedics rushed the victim to a hospital for immediate treatment.

Authorities say that driver of the gray car fled the scene. Officials described the suspect as a Hispanic man in his 30s, wearing a white shirt, blue jeans, and sneakers.

DPS is investigating the incident and adds that criminal charges are pending for a hit-and-run crash.
