Injury Reported in Head-On Fiery Crash on Spruce Street [Stratford, TX]

Stratford, TX (August 26, 2023) On Thursday evening, a fiery crash on Spruce Street between 2 big rigs led to injury and death.

According to Sherman County officials, the fatal big rig collision happened at about 9:20 p.m. near the intersection at Highway 287 and U.S. 54.

Reports say that an eastbound big rig collided head-on with a westbound semi-truck. Officials say that they received reports of reckless driving west of Stratford.

Officials say that the the crash caused an explosion and both semi’s caught fire.

According to the Stratford Police Department, officers were able to free the westbound semi’s driver out of the burning vehicle and the driver suffered injuries that were treated at the scene.

Meanwhile, the eastbound big rig was on its side and was already ablaze, rescuers were not able to save the other driver, as there was no way to get to the driver, officials pronounced the driver dead at the scene.

Authorities are investigating the massive big rig collision and have not released further information at this time.
