1 Injured in San Diego Car Collision on Paseo Montril
SAN DIEGO, CA (July 15, 2019) – A 17-year-old boy sustained injuries in a car collision on Paseo Montril on July 11.
The injured traveled south in the 9400 block of Paseo Montril when his 2003 Ford pickup stopped. He attempted to drive it off the road, but it gained speed and he lost control, Officer Robert Heims of the San Diego Police Department revealed.
The victim went through the driver’s side window to attempt to regain control of the truck. He was hanging out the window when the truck crashed into a retaining wall and fence, throwing him from the truck. The vehicle then went down an embankment, rolled over and struck a tree, Heims revealed.
As a result of the crash, the boy sustained a broken leg, a deep cut to his left thigh and a concussion. Responders transported him to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries, Heims added.
Authorities ruled out alcohol as a factor in the collision.
Police also urged anyone with information to contact San Diego Traffic Division detectives at 858-495-7800.
