2 Injured in Victorville Car Collision on Mariposa Road

VICTORVILLE, CA (August 14, 2019) – Two people sustained injuries in a collision on Mariposa Road on August 13.

The Victorville Deputies and firefighters responded to a two-car collision before 11:00 a.m. on Mariposa Road and Locust Avenue.

Emergency responders extricated a trapped female driver inside a silver Nissan Sentra. However, two male passengers and a baby didn’t suffer any injury.

Meanwhile, responders also spotted a woman outside a gray 2009 Dodge Charger when firefighters came.

Sheriff’s spokeswoman Mara Rodriguez said that the Dodge Charger traveled south on Mariposa. At the same time, Nissan tried to turn right onto Mariposa Road and failed to yield to traffic.

“The Dodge broadsided the Nissan when it pulled out onto Mariposa,” said Rodriguez.

Responders transported the passenger in the Charger and the driver of the Nissan to area hospitals.

As a result, the incident closed both southbound lanes on Mariposa Road while firefighters worked at the scene.

Road accidents can happen anytime, anywhere, and to anyone. One small driving mistake can lead to disastrous results. As a result, it is important to drive defensively and to always abide by all driving laws.
