2 Injured in Hemet T-Bone Collision on Florida Avenue
HEMET, CA (July 16, 2019) – Two people, a couple, sustained injuries in a collision on Florida Avenue on July 14.
According to reports, a vehicle ran a red light crashed broadside into the couple’s car. In addition, the incident happened while they left Hemet’s Winco parking lot on Florida Avenue and Promenade Drive.
According to witnesses, the Kia pulled out of the Winco parking lot onto Florida Avenue with a green light. However, Toyota ran a red light and broadsided the Kia. After that, the Toyota lost control and crashed into the raised center median before spinning into the oncoming lanes of traffic.
City of Hemet Police responded to the scene around 10:35 a.m. Upon the officials’ arrival, they located a yellow Toyota FJ Cruiser with moderate front-end damage and a heavily damaged white Kia Soul. In addition, the Kia blocked the westbound lanes of traffic. The Toyota blocked one of the eastbound lanes of travel along Florida Avenue.
Paramedics administered treatment to the two injured victims from the Kia. After that, responders transported the two to Hemet Valley Hospital with unidentified injuries. However, the Toyota’s driver and passenger declined further medical treatment.
Authorities ruled out drugs or alcohol as a factor in the collision. In addition, the crash remains under investigation.
