Solo-Vehicle Collision Reported near Grand Avenue
OAKLAND, CA (October 26, 2018) – On Friday morning, injuries were sustained in a rollover crash on 580 Freeway.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision took place at approximately 9:47 AM in the eastbound lanes, just west of the Grand Avenue off-ramp. Based on an initial report from the police, the case was a solo-vehicle incident that involved a white car.
The vehicle was seen swerving in and out of lanes, before it reportedly struck a pole and overturned, landing on its side. The cause of the collision has not yet been determined, as the investigation continues.
The paramedics arrived at the scene to rescue one person who was trapped in the car. The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries, but it is unclear if they were hospitalized. There is no update on their current medical condition. The No. 4 lane was shut down during preliminary investigation and cleanup. No additional information has been released to the public at this time.
