Three Vehicles Involved in Collision near La Costa Avenue
ENCINITAS, CA (May 21, 2019) – Injuries were sustained in a multi-car crash on southbound 5 Freeway, Tuesday evening.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision took place around 9:37 PM, just north of La Costa Avenue. Dispatchers arrived to the area shortly after.
Based on an initial report, there were three vehicles involved in the pile-up. The parties were identified as a white Mercedes-Benz, a black Tesla, and a gray Nissan Sentra.
The paramedics were requested for needed medical attention. They confirmed that non-life-threatening injuries were sustained due to impact of the collision.
No. 1 and 2 lanes were closed while rescue, clearing, and cleaning operations took place in the area, but eventually reopened.
The cause of the commotion is not yet known. The incident is still currently under investigation at this time.
