Three Critically Injured in Nuevo Car Accident
NUEVO, CA (April 13, 2019) – Three people were critically injured in a head-on collision on Ramona Expressway, Saturday morning.
Authorities were dispatched to the scene around 6:52 AM on Ramona Expressway. Dispatchers arrived just west of Bridge Street soon after. Riverside County Sheriffs and County Fire Department also arrived following the collision.
All occupants were found trapped upon officers arrival. They were consequently extricated from the wreckage. Paramedics immediately transported them to a nearby hospital for further treatment. However, there has been no update on their medical status.
The vehicles involved were identified as a grey Kia minivan and a green Toyota SUV. Due to the collision, California Highway Patrol closed Ramon Expressway between Bridge Street and Hansen Avenue.
Police do not believe alcohol and drugs were a contributing factor in the accident. There has been no further information released regarding the circumstances leading up to the incident at this time as investigations continue.
