Three-Vehicle Traffic Crash Reported in Sylmar on 5 Freeway
SYLMAR, CA (November 30, 2018) – Injuries were sustained in a fiery collision on northbound 5 Freeway, just north of 210 Freeway on Wednesday, November 28.
California Highway Patrol received a call around 12:45 a.m. about a black sedan that rear-ended an undescribed vehicle blocking the No. 2 lane of 5 Freeway. When officers arrived at the scene, they found the two vehicles on the carpool lane and another vehicle leaking liquid on the right shoulder of the road.
According to the CHP incident log, debris was scattered on the freeway and one of the vehicles was on fire.
Ambulances were called for possible injuries and tow services responded to assist in clearing the scene.
Officials are still conducting an investigation. No additional information was released.
