At Least 1 Injured in Paso Robles Cement Truck Crash on Highway 101
PASO ROBLES, CA (November 07, 2019) — At least one person sustained injuries in a cement truck crash on Highway 101 near Paso Robles on Tuesday.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at about 4:34 a.m. south of Niblick Road. A semi towing double tanker trailers was southbound on the highway when it veered off the road.
The semi went through the metal guardrail in the center divider. It then rolled down a steep embankment that separates the northbound and southbound lanes of Highway 101.
Meantime, the tanker trailers ended up in the northbound lanes. A northbound vehicle was unable to stop in time and collided into them.
The 37-year-old Santa Maria driving the semi suffered moderate injuries. On the other hand, there was no word whether the driver of the other vehicle was hurt.
The crash forced the closure of northbound Highway 101. The officers diverted traffic onto the Spring Street offramp until around 10 a.m.
No arrests were made in relation to the accident. The investigation is ongoing.
It is important to always be alert when behind the wheel of a car, truck, or bus. Stay within the speed limit, and follow the rules of the road to prevent any dangerous accidents. Always keep an eye out for possible road hazards and stay on guard.
