Injuries Reported in Redding Car Collision on Highway 299
REDDING, CA (June 3, 2019) – An unknown number of people sustained injuries in a car collision on Highway 299 on May 30.
The CHP revealed that the collision shut down one lane of Highway 299. A big rig reportedly went down an embankment near Trinity Mountain Road.
The incident involving an empty logging truck and sedan occurred about 5:00 a.m. The truck fell on a 100-foot embankment around 4 miles west of the French Gulch turnoff from the highway.
The eastbound lanes remained closed for several hours since crews are having hard time removing the big rig.
CHP also advised motorist to expect delays until 2:00 p.m. However, the traffic returned to normal only around 5:00 p.m.
Injuries are sustained in the crash and medics airlifted one person to Mercy Medical Center in Redding.
