Multiple Crashes Across Central Coast Injures Several People
CENTRAL COAST, CA (February 18, 2019) – Minor injuries were reported after multiple crashes on Highway 101 across the Central Coast Friday morning.
First, a two-vehicle crash was reported in the northbound lanes of Highway 101 at the 4th Street off-ramp in Pismo Beach at 7:45 a.m. After a few minutes, a crash between an SUV and a big rig was reported in the northbound lanes of Highway 101 at the Tefft Street off-ramp in Nipomo. An ambulance was requested at the scene of the accident.
According to the California Highway Patrol, multiple crashes were also reported in the Gaviota area between 6:20 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. A traffic collision occurred just north of the Gaviota rest area along southbound Highway 101. Another two-vehicle crash was also reported in the same area. There were also reports of a two-vehicle collision just south of the Gaviota rest area along southbound Highway 101.
The CHP advised drivers to stay clear of the area while the investigators and clean-up crew remained at the scene. They also reminded motorists to slow down and be extra cautious when driving in the rain.
