Injuries Sustained in Cajon Pass Auto Accident on Interstate 15 and Cleghorn Road
CAJON PASS, CA (September 17, 2024) – Sunday night, a startling traffic crash on Interstate 15 and Cleghorn Road led to minor injuries.
The incident happened just before 9:00 p.m. on northbound Interstate 15, about a mile before Cleghorn Road exit.
According to a preliminary report from the California Highway Patrol, the semi initially moved into the left lane but abruptly swerved back, causing the driver to lose control and the truck to overturn. It appears the trailer’s load shifted, leading to the semitrailer tipping onto its left side and blocking two right lanes.
While there’s no specific timeline for when the northbound lanes will fully reopen, two lanes were cleared for traffic by midnight after the truck was righted and the process of unloading the trailer began. Minor injuries were reported, though it’s unclear if the semi’s driver was among the injured. Authorities aim to have the truck completely cleared by around 5 a.m.
At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
Due to the limited information available, the authorities continued to investigate the crash.
