Overturned Truck Crash on 15 Freeway Shuts Roadways
El Cajon, CA (November 19, 2020) – Thursday morning, a truck overturned while carrying 50,000 pounds of refrigerated cookie dough on the 15 Freeway.
The crash happened just after 7 a.m., about 100 feet off the southbound lanes a mile north of the escape ramp, north of Highway 138.
The California Highway Patrol reported injuries due to the crash. However, details of the extent were unclear at this time.
Moreover, the right lane was closed while crews cleaned up the mess and repaired a guardrail. The dough was in small brown boxes that crews stacked after the boxes tumbled from the truck.
Further investigation to determine the cause of the El Cajon crash is ongoing.
According to the United States Department of Transportation, there are approximately 300,000 merging accidents every year. In 2017, 485,866 accidents were reported solely in the state of California.
It is therefore important to follow all traffic laws to avoid these types of accidents.

Hiring a Personal Attorney
The most valuable step you can take in response to a vehicle crash is hiring a personal injury attorney. Mark Sweet, a personal injury attorney at Sweet Lawyers, says that serious car accident cases may call for a separate investigation spearheaded by a lawyer fighting on behalf of an injured victim. Oftentimes, the effects of injuries are not fully diagnosed or recognized until it is too late.
