Injuries Reported in Interstate 5 Fatal Accident [Redding, CA]

Redding, CA (April 16, 2022) On Friday, injuries were reported in a fatal accident on Interstate 5 that claimed a motorcyclist’s life.

The Redding Police Department (RPD) says the fatal incident started at 2:30 p.m. as officials attempted to stop a motorcycle rider near Oasis Road.

Reports say that the motorcyclist drove against traffic onto northbound I-5 which prompted officers to stop the chase.

Furthermore, as the rider reached North Market Street at Twin View Boulevard they collided with a white Jeep.

Moreover, the Jeep was waiting to turn onto Twin View Boulevard at the time.

Consequently, the impact ejected the motorcyclist who died at the scene.

The paramedics immediately treated the Jeep’s occupant with minor injuries.

Meanwhile, the police closed a portion of North Market and all connecting side streets.

Authorities are investigating the crash and have not released information on the parties involved.
