Injuries Reported in Highway 15 Traffic Accident [San Diego, CA]

San Diego, CA (September 21, 2024) On Monday morning, 2 women and a childe were hurt and hospitalized after the Highway 15 traffic accident.

According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), 2 pit bulls wandering on the southbound CA-15 caused a crash when a female driver in a Mazda struck one of the dogs and lost control of her vehicle.

After the Mazda collided with the dog, it crashed into a Nissan driven by another woman, causing her to lose control and flip her vehicle onto its roof.

Good Samaritans stopped to assist the women, with one man rescuing both dogs, placing them in the back of his truck. Unfortunately, one of the dogs was killed after being hit by the Mazda.

Both women, along with a small child, were transported to a local hospital for treatment of their injuries, which remain unknown. The dogs were later handed over to the troopers and awaited pickup by the San Diego Humane Society.

The southbound lanes of CA-15 were closed for approximately 30 minutes following the Highway 15 traffic accident.
