According to the Austin Police Department (APD), the horrific incident happened at around 10:24 p.m. in the 60th block of East Avenue near Rainey Street in Downtown Austin.

The Austin Police Department’s Highway Enforcement Unit is appealing for public assistance in identifying a suspect involved in a hit-and-run that left a pedestrian with life-threatening injuries.

According to police, a vehicle struck the victim and then fled the scene without rendering aid.
