Several People Hurt in Hearne Multi-Vehicle Accident on US 79 near Brazos River
HEARNE, TX (March 5, 2024) – Sunday afternoon, a crippling pile-up crash on US 79 near Brazos River led to injuries.
The incident happened at about 3:00 p.m. on US 79 at the Brazos River in Roberston County.
After the crash, several people were transported to hospitals and are expected to be okay.
Meanwhile, the investigation revealed that a 2018 Ford F350 towing a trailer was driving northeast on the highway. Then, the trailer “sustained a defect” and veered into the southbound lanes.
After the crash, three vehicles that were going in the opposite direction hit the trailer.
Officers confirmed that the other three vehicles were a 2015 Dodge Ra 3500, a 2015 Kia Sorento, and a 2020 Kia Soul.
At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
Due to the limited information available, the authorities continued to investigate the crash.
