Van and Sedan Involved in Morning Crash on 5 Freeway in Sacramento
SACRAMENTO, CA (July 29, 2019) – Injuries were reported following a 2-vehicle crash Monday morning on 5 Freeway in South Sacramento.
The crash happened around 7:13 a.m., along the southbound lanes of 5 Freeway. Dispatchers arrived just north of Garden Highway.
According to reports, a white van and a gray Toyota Camry collided, sending both vehicles off the freeway and into the bushes. There, one of the vehicles eventually overturned.
Arriving units found injuries with complaints of pain as a result of the accident. An ambulance unit was dispatched to the scene to give aid to the patients. However, the exact number of injured parties was not immediately known.
Towing services were requested to remove the vehicles from the wreckage.
CHP is still investigating to determine the mechanics of the crash, as well as the circumstances surrounding the incident.
