CHP Investigates Big Rig Crash on  Interstate 5 in Santa Clarita Valley

Santa Clarita Valley, CA (December 23, 2021) – Wednesday afternoon, CHP responded to a reported big rig crash on Interstate 5.

The big rig crash in Santa Clarita Valley happened at around 3:20 p.m. on December 22.

CHP said the big rig crashed while carrying concrete on the overpass from the southbound I-5 to the northbound side of Highway 14.  

Both sides of the northbound and southbound I-5 were shut down for an unknown duration with both sides of traffic being diverted into the truck lanes.  

As a result, a handful of injuries were reported and at least one person was transported to the hospital.

No other information is immediately available.
