Police Investigate Crash on Interstate 10 in Culberson County 

Culberson County, TX (December 13, 2024) – Texas Highway Patrol troopers are investigating a “major crash” on Interstate 10 that occurred Friday night, Dec. 13, the Texas Department of Public Safety reported.

Around 8 p.m., a semitruck and trailer traveling eastbound on Interstate 10 near mile marker 131 veered into oncoming traffic, colliding with a passenger vehicle and another semitruck.

The crash occurred approximately 10 miles west of Van Horn.

DPS confirmed that Interstate 10 West remains closed at the crash site, with traffic backed up for about 2.5 miles. Drivers are being redirected onto the highway shoulder.

TxDOT also confirmed the main lanes are closed at the scene, and the clearing process will continue until further notice.

While minor injuries were reported, cleanup efforts are ongoing. Authorities urge motorists to avoid the area.
