Three Hospitalized in Orcas Island Plane Crash
Orcas Island, WA (September 18, 2021) – On Thursday, people suffered injuries in a plane crash on Point Lawrence Road.
The small plane crashed at about 6:25 p.m. near the 3300 block area after taking off from Harbor Airport.
The Federal Aviation Administration confirmed the single-engine Piper PA-38 lost engine power over the water.
Rescuers airlifted all three people to the hospital wit.h injuries.
Officers did not provide details about the victims’ identities.
Meanwhile, the San Juan County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the aircraft was a complete loss. The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board continues to investigate the incident.
