Lanes Blocked in Ventura Auto Accident on Main Street near Donlon Street
VENTURA, CA (November 9, 2023) – Monday night, authorities reported injuries in a fiery crash on Main Street near Donlon Street.
The incident started at around 11:10 p.m. when a black Audi drove through an earlier crash on Ocean Drive and Oxnard Avenue and struck one off the officers who was responding at the scene.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the Audi fled the scene at a high rate of speed and managed to elude the chasing authorities before it collided with a Gold Coast ambulance on Main Street near a Target at Main and Donlon Streets.. Then the force of the crash pushed the ambulance into a large truck. Also, the ambulance and the Audi erupted into flames after the collision.
Moreover, responders transported the occupants of the three vehicles, including the hit-and-run driver who sustained serious injuries, to a hospital for treatment.
Furthermore, officers arrested the suspect on suspicion of felony evading and felony DUI offenses.
At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.
Due to limited information, the CHP continued to investigate the crash.
