Lanes Blocked in Lee County Auto Accident near US 290 and FM 180
LEE COUNTY, TX (June 24, 2024) – Sunday morning, a fiery two-vehicle crash near US 290 and FM 180 led to injuries.
The incident happened at around 10:49 a.m. near the intersection of US 290 and FM 180.
According to the DPS, a truck tractor towing a trailer carrying barrels of crude oil attempted to enter the eastbound lane. Then, it collided with an eastbound SUV.
Paramedics rushed the two occupants of the SUV, a man and a woman, to a hospital for treatment.
Authorities said that the crash blocked the roadway for a while, but has long since reopened.
At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
Due to the limited information available, the Texas Department of Public Safety continued to investigate the crash.
