EL CENTRO, CA (September 19, 2023) – Monday morning, authorities reported injuries in a disastrous vehicle crash on Highway 86 near Border Patrol Checkpoint.

The incident happened at around 8:54 a.m. on northbound Highway 86, just south of the Border Patrol checkpoint.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a big rig collided with farm equipment for still unknown reasons.

Moreover, officers confirmed that injuries were sustained in the crash.

Furthermore, the incident blocked the scene, but has long since reopened.

At this time, the cause of the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.

Due to limited information, the CHP continued to investigate the crash.
