Lanes Blocked in Kansas City Auto Accident on 71 Highway near Bannister Road
KANSAS CITY, MO (October 29, 2024) – Sunday morning, authorities reported injuries following a disastrous vehicle crash on 71 Highway near Bannister Road.
The incident happened at around 4:30 a.m. on southbound 71 Highway near Bannister Road.
According to the KCPD, a Ford Fusion rear-ended a KCPD Ford Explorer for still unknown reasons. Then, the force of the crash pushed the KCPD Ford Explorer into the rear of a KCPD Ford Explorer, which in turn struck an abandoned Charger.
Moreover, authorities said that officers sustained minor injuries in the incident. Then, paramedics transported the driver of the Ford Fusion to a hospital with serious injuries.
Furthermore, authorities confirmed that the officers were at the scene of an earlier crash when the incident occurred.
At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.
Due to limited information, the KCPD continued to investigate the crash.
