1 Person Arrested in Copperopolis Auto Accident on Highway 126 near Pyle Road

COPPEROPOLIS, CA (July 26, 2023) – Monday afternoon, authorities reported injuries following a crippling head-on crash on Highway 126 near Pyle Road.

The incident happened at around 2:00 p.m. on Highway 126, east of Pyle Road.

According to the California Highway Patrol, an eastbound 2018 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup veered into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with a westbound 2006 Chevrolet pickup. Then, the debris from the crash struck a westbound Dodge ProMaster cargo van.

Moreover, firefighters rushed to the scene and extricated a female passenger of the Dodge Ram who was trapped inside the wreckage. Then, paramedics transported the Dodge driver, a 43-year-old Lancaster man, and his 49-year-old female passenger to Ventura County Medical Center with major injuries.

Also, a passenger of the Dodge ProMaster cargo van sustained minor injuries in the crash.

Furthermore, officers arrested the Dodge Ram driver, on suspicion of DUI.

At this time, the circumstances leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.

Due to limited information, the authorities continued to investigate the crash.
