Maranda Bond Arrested in Whatcom County Accident Inuring People
Whatcom County, WA (July 30, 2021) – On July 28, people suffered injuries and police arrested 39-year-old Maranda Bond, from Sumas, in a vehicle crash on Hannegan Road.
The accident happened at about 8:45 p.m. at the Ten Mile Road intersection.
Apparently, a 2018 Chevrolet Equinox crashed with the passenger side of a black 1998 Honda Civic which failed to stop at stop sign.
WSP said the Honda driver and its 2 passengers were eastbound on Ten Mile Road. It did not stop at the stop sign and was struck by the northbound Chevrolet with a driver and a passenger.
Right away, responders took everyone in the Honda to PeaceHealth St Joseph’s Medical Center.
Meanwhile, rescuers airlifted 1 of the 3 from St Joseph’s to Harborview Medical Center with serious injuries. It is unknown whether anyone in the Honda was wearing a seatbelt during the crash.
Moreover, 2 occupants of the Chevrolet did not suffer injuries in the crash. They were wearing their seatbelts during the accident.
Officers said both vehicles were considered total losses and towed from the accident scene.
Furthermore, officers determined drugs or alcohol were not factors in the accident.
Bond, the Honda driver, will be charged with reckless driving, driving with a revoked license and driving without insurance.
