BUTTE COUNTY, CA (December 17, 2018) – Injuries and damage were reported late Monday afternoon following a train accident on Highway 99.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened near Riviera Road, at about 4:55 PM. For unknown reasons, a train crashed into an unoccupied big rig.
Butte County firefighters arrived at the scene to render aid to the injured victims. The exact number of patients and the extent of their injuries were not immediately known.
