2 People Injured in San Diego Accident on Interstate 15 near Carmel Road
SAN DIEGO, CA (October 12, 2022) – Tuesday morning, a box truck crash on Interstate 15 near Carmel Road led to injuries.
The incident happened when officers tried to pull over a speeding driver. However, the male driver fled from the authorities, heading onto the southbound lanes of Interstate 15.
Then, the pursuit ended at about 4:40 a.m. when the driver crashed with a box truck near Carmel Mountain Road. After the crash, the truck flipped onto its side and caused heavy damage to both vehicles.
When the responders arrived, they extricated both drivers and took them to nearby hospitals.
Moreover, the authorities issued a SigAlert as crews conducted the rescue and investigated the scene of the crash. As a result, a heavy traffic backup occurred. However, all lanes have since reopened and the authorities lifted the SigAlert.
At this time, the authorities haven’t disclosed the charges the suspected speeding driver could face in connection to the pursuit and crash.
