Injuries in Columbia Street Northeast DUI Crash [North Kitsap, WA]

North Kitsap, WA (September 28, 2021) – On Saturday, four were hospitalized while police arrested an 18-year-old Bremerton woman in Columbia Street Northeast DUI crash.

The authorities responded to the crash scene at the 20000 block area, south of Robin Lane Northeast.

Officers said that the southbound 2007 Hyundai Elantra was speeding on Columbia Street and lost control coming out of a curve. 

Then, the vehicle overturned and rested in a ditch on the road’s opposite side.

Immediately, emergency responders airlifted a man and a woman to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with life-threatening injuries.

Similarly, rescuers also took another man and woman to St. Michael’s Medical Center in Silverdale with less serious injuries. 

Moreover, the officers suspected the driver to be under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash.

They processed her for the suspected impairment. Then, the deputies obtained a warrant for a blood sample and evaluated her for minor injuries at St. Michael’s.

Later on, officers arrested and booked her into the county jail on suspicion of four counts of vehicular assault, which she was later charged for.

Investigating officers believe the vehicle may have left a party in the area of the Poulsbo Cemetery before the accident.
