1 Person Arrested after Phoenix Auto Accident on Interstate 19 and Interstate 17

PHOENIX, AZ (August 6, 2024) – Saturday morning, a fiery traffic crash on Interstate 10 and Interstate 17 led to injuries.

The incident happened just before 5:30 a.m. on Interstate 10 and Interstate 17.

At around 5:30 a.m., Arizona Department of Transportation cameras captured footage of a semi-truck engulfed in flames. Traffic in the area was rerouted as first responders worked to put out the fire and clear the crash site. 

According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS), a second vehicle was also involved in the incident. While the number of injured individuals remained unknown, DPS confirmed that none of the injuries were life-threatening. 

DPS later confirmed that one person had been detained in connection to the crash. 

Furthermore, the cause of the crash was still under investigation, with impairment not yet ruled out.
