One Man Airlifted after Tree Truck Rollover Crash in Grove Street
Sonoma, CA (February 4, 2021) – Thursday afternoon, two men sustained injuries when their vehicle crashed into a tree on Grove Street.
The Grove Street crash happened at 2:20 p.m; on February 4.
The California Highway Patrol investigators said a private tree-trimming truck and trailer rig lost control and crashed into a tree at an unknown speed.
The collision rolled the truck over into the road near Westerbeke Ranch, spilling significant diesel fuel quantities.
Approximately 30 gallons of diesel fuel were spilled by the overturn, creating a “small Haz-Mat situation.
Moreover, dispatched officers extricated the stuck passenger then transported him by ambulance to nearby Ernie Smith Park. A REACH helicopter flew him to the trauma center at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital with moderate injuries.
Meanwhile, the driver also sustained minor injuries and was taken to Napa’s Queen of the Valley Hospital. EMS did not give details on the extent of injuries to both men.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
