Fatal Indio Crash on 10 Freeway West of Highway 86

INDIO, CA (November 30, 2018) – A dead body was found early Friday morning on 10 Freeway in Indio, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The discovery was reported at 2:34 a.m. along the eastbound lanes of 10 Freeway, just West of Highway 86.

CHP officials said, the body was found lying in the slow lane and a vehicle was recovered on the right shoulder, unknown if involved.

Fire officials responded to the scene and confirmed the fatality of the incident. A coroner’s personnel was notified to pick up the victim’s remains.

Further details, including the identity of the deceased, were not immediately available. The incident remains under investigation.
